Day 64 – Easter Sunday. It’s been a tough 9 weeks so far with huge uncertainty and massive challenges for Kai, he has been fighting all the way and is making good progress. We’re eternally grateful for the support Kai has been receiving from friends and people who know him either personally or via social media, it’s a great boost for us in these difficult times.
As a family, we have been focussed on Kai but we have realised that there are many people who feel as we do and are genuinely concerned. Updates have been hard because of the uncertainty around Kai’s condition so they have been vague in places. However, we all know Kai has always been open and honest in his social media posts even during the difficult times and we will try to do the same with the

How did you end up riding for Hyper bikes?
Nic Long: They reached out to my dad to run a factory team, and they wanted an Elite men as well. So, Dad asked me and the deal was better than my Haro deal... so I couldn’t say no. Plus, I get to help my Dad got for another team title. Like the good ole days.
You had a signature frame at Haro which had a long rear end. What's the benefit of the long back-end?
Nic Long: Idk if I’d say benefit, more so plagued haha. I almost can’t ride anything else now. It started cause I had a gate at my old house (that most had been to and tried) and It was super flat... I would have days where I would just wheelie over and over so I’d add a link, ultimately leading Derek Betcher to ask if I wanted a custom size cause my bolts were hanging off the drop outs.

Sponsors: Clayborn Bicycles / Answer Bmx
Mechanic: PalmDog Millionaire
How did you end up on Clayborn bikes?
James Palmer: At the end of 2017 I was looking for a new brand to build a relationship with as I had no sponsor at the time. Tory had been riding for Ssquared/Answer for a few years and spoke good things about John Sawyer and crew. And I knew John owned the Clayborn brand as well but had no Pro representing them, so I contacted John about the possibility of coming on board and thankfully we were able to work out a deal!
