Only six weeks left until the dirtiest competition of the year kicks off. On April 25th, the wheels will be spinning again at the Kraftzentrale Duisburg. Mud hills beyond head height and gigantic wooden ramps will turn the Ruhr area venue at the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord into a spectacular bike spot. On the sports agenda: BMX Dirt Jump and Mountainbike Slopestyle. In the BMX roster, Australian
Ryan Guettler (4th X-Games 2009, 2nd Duisburg 2009) replaces
Ryan Nyquist; 2008 MTB winner Paul
Basagoitia (USA) replaces the injured Lance McDermott (UK). In between runs, alternative rockers AFI and punk rock stars Sum 41 are going to keep the crowds hyped, before headliners Bad Religion come out for the big finale of the night!

Great names have confirmed their appearance, which in turn promises breath-taking duels on the track. However, having a title from two years ago like the German Dirt champ 2008
Markus Hampl, or owning an American passport, like
Rob Darden, TJ Ellis and
Anthony Napolitan do, will probably not be sufficient enough to become the 2010 title holder. UK guns
Ben Hennon and
Ben Wallace are going to be in Duisburg, as well as German dirt specialist
Simon Moratz and Frenchmen
Patrick Guimez and
Maxime Charveron. Another top candidate is Ryan Guettler (AUS), 4th in the X-Games 2009 and runner-up in last year’s T-Mobile Playgrounds Duisburg; Guettler replaces US star
Ryan Nyquist, who had to cancel his appearance due to an injured knee.
Some of the best there are – but not only on the dirt! This goes for the stage as well! In between qualifications, and after the finals, the T-Mobile Playgrounds feature three full live music shows.
After a two-year break, punkrockers Sum 41 return to a German stage, and Californians AFI will rock Duisburg with new songs from their 2009 release “Crash Love”! But the crowning finale will undoubtedly 30 years of punk rock history: Bad Religion! Along with their giant repertoire of hits they’ll have some songs from their 15th album up their sleeves… Can Duisburg take it?
Ticket sales to the T-Mobile Extreme Playgrounds are already up and running – and they’re going fast!
