A new event is born in my hometown and the good thing is that I had little to do with it. Jam Plaza #1 took place in the city center of Helmond and was put on by the OJA crew and Lokaal 42, a local pub. After picking a date, making a flyer, gathering some goodies and promoting the hell out of the event, the day was finally there. Not knowing what to expect we entered the market square full of people drinking adult beverages and loads of riders jumping the 040BMX box.
Impressed by the many people there and the live band rocking out it already felt like this was going to be an annual event. Paul's Boutique's Local Hero team was doing a demo with anyone who felt like it joining the show. Later on a few little ramps were set up for all the kids who had brought their bikes. More on that in the Kids section soon.
With Youth Center OJA being closed for a few months, they're on tour, causing trouble at other venues. Lokaal 42 was one of them and it turned out to be a good one. Bikes, Beers & Bitches!
