“It was good to challenge myself on such a technical track, the UCI points on offer weren’t massive, but, they all add up, so it was good to get a win,” said Madill.
With only a short break between rounds 5 and 6, riders had to back up in some tough conditions, providing some impressive racing throughout the night.
Current Probikx Men Series leader Brian Kirkham proved to good in round 6, the South Australian extended his overall lead to 194 points over Luke Madill. Joshua Callan and Joel Clark made the most of Sam Willoughby’s absence, moving into 3rd and 4th respectfully.
Caroline Buchanan traveled to Bunbury as the leading pro women rider and, after crashing out on the second straight in round 5, Buchanan had a point to prove. The Canberra rider bounced back in style, winning round 6 with ease. “ After what happened in round 5 I was happy to get a win under my belt,“ said Buchanan.
Credit has to go to all riders for backing up and riding rounds 5 and 6 on the one-day.
After a heavy crash earlier in the day Nick Deininger was released from hospital late Saturday night with no major injury concerns.
Round 7 and 8 heads to the ACT and, will be hotly contested with a number of elite riders expected to register as vital UCI overall world ranking points will be on offer.
