With the redevelopment of Bunbury BMX track to international standards, a big weekend of racing is expected with overall world ranking points available.
UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) ranking points are important to Australia's hopes of having the maximum number of riders at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
"All my training and competition is to prepare for the ultimate goal of representing Australia at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Racing against the calibre of riders at Bunbury will give me a good indication of my chance of making the Olympic team," said Reynolds.
Now known as Perkins BMX Stadium, round 5 and 6 is much more than just another weekend of BMX racing, the event symbolises the hard work and effort put in by the club and local community to build the new track.
"It is now one of Australia's premier BMX tracks and I look forward to gauging the reaction of all riders and officials over the weekend, "said Bunbury BMX Club President Tim Wakeling. "We are very proud of what we have built and it's a credit to all who were involved, including local businesses and the wider community."
