The official NK BMX Freestyle 2021 will take place in Skateland Rotterdam on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September. In that weekend it will be determined who can call themselves Dutch BMX Freestyle Champion for a year. The NK BMX Freestyle 2021 is part of Rotterdam Street Culture Week that takes place in Skateland, among other places.
Three disciplines
In addition to the traditional Park and Street disciplines that were introduced in 2018 and 2020, a new discipline has been added. Flatland is an officially recognized part of the Dutch Championship for the first time. National Championships are now being held in 3 BMX Freestyle disciplines. 'Street' is ridden on the Street Park course where mainly tricks are done from stairs and rails. Park is ridden on the 'Park' course that mainly has high quarterpipes, boxes and spines'. 'Flatland' is sometimes called 'breakdancing with a BMX bike', the participants perform on a flat floor and do various tricks and combinations there. On Saturday September 11, the competition will take place in the Street and Flatland categories. The Park category will be held on Sunday 12 September.

BMX Freestyle Park was recognized as an Olympic discipline by the IOC in 2017 and has seen rapid development since then. The free practice starts on Thursday and there are three half-hour show sessions on Friday and Saturday. Of course, every rider wants to accelerate and push the limits in order to be crowned “Lord of the Lake” in the late afternoon. Olympic gold medalist Charlotte Worthington has her mind set on the next Summer Olympics hosted by Paris in 2024. The 25-year-old biker spoke to the press at I Am Team GB’s Festival of Sport event, held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park a couple of weeks ago. Worthington impressed fans and Vwin88 punters alike with her dramatic recovery at the Tokyo Olympics after falling in her first run, especially with her 360-degree backflip that ultimately won her the gold.
Definitely looking at Paris
“I am definitely looking at Paris,” Worthington told the press at the event. “I know how much hard work it took to get to Tokyo, so I am really looking forward to getting stuck into what will be even more hard work. In the short term, I will be taking a little break. In the long-term, I am going to get back on the BMX and aim for qualifying and competing at the next Games.” -

25-year-old Charlotte Worthington hailing from Manchester, England, is a newcomer in the scene - she took up BMX rather late, at the age of 20. When Freestyle BMX was added to the Olympic lineup in 2017, she was working full-time at a Mexican restaurant. She was later accepted into the Great Britain Cycling Team and has proven that her addition was a great choice: she won her first British and European titles in 2019 and became the first British woman to win a world medal in the discipline (bronze at the UCI

Since the start of the season, Hurricane Group has been motived to reconnect with FISE's initial mission of bringing together riders and fans to celebrate action sports and the values that unite them. FISE Montpellier was intended as a real urban sports party where everyone is invited, from Amateurs to Pros, and including the many spectators that make the atmosphere at this iconic festival so special. With the current sanitary situation and many restrictions, which would drastically limit the number of people able to attend the event, it is no longer possible to meet our ambitions for the festival. Without the crowds of enthusiasts and international riders , no format envisaged can recreate what has ensured the success of FISE Montpellier since 1997.
Faced with this, the organization is forced to cancel the September edition of FISE Montpellier 2021.
