It’s usually “Bad one first!” if one has the choice between good and not so good news. And that’s the way we keep it here: The bad news is, that the DirtFabrik, Germany’s new indoor dirt spot in the making, is not going to open within the next weeks due to some missing licenses of the buildings next(!) to the location. “Well, and the good one?” Surprisingly the Halle 5 in Mainz, which was said to be closed by the end of 2010, is still open! The indoor trails can still be used for at least some months, so the locals offered to be the
hosts of the annual Telekom Local Support Dirt Challenge!

But as the location is already proved and tested, but there are some changes within the competition itself. In the 5th year of the Telekom Local Support Challenges there’ll be no team format any longer! All ride together, but everyone’s on his own! Also new are the prizes in the pro class: travel budget worth € 1.600 is waiting for the best riders! The amateurs are competing for stuff by Monster Energy, Pro-tec, the Fiat Freestyle Team, The Local Face shop, Felt Bikes and Odi.
But some things won’t change: of course the Telekom Local Support Dirt Challenge is once again the official qualification for the Telekom Extreme Playgrounds in Duisburg in April 17th. On 20“ and(!) 26“ the three best pro riders and the most convincing amateur grab a spot on the rider’s list and have the chance to ride with and against guys like
Anthony Napolitan and
Corey Bohan.

On top there’s the full service package on-site: The Telekom Local Support service van helps if you’ve got issues with your bike, the free rider’s bbq give’s you some power, there’s no starting fee and the entry is free!
Lots of good reasons to hit the road. BUT: the starter list is filling up very fast! Make sure to register early!
