The inaugural 2017 Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championships closed out a remarkable series finale today as Larry Edgar was crowned Vans BMX Pro Cup World Champion. His critical second place finish bumped up his overall rankings to edge out former leader Sergio Layos to take the victory. Annihilating the custom-spec cement park course in Huntington Beach as part of the Vans US Open, Edgar’s showstopping airs and effortless technical style has surpassed the world’s best BMX park riders, earning him the coveted World Championship title, in addition to the crowd favorite Big Air Award.

The Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championships kicked off today in Huntington Beach, CA at the Vans US Open of Surfing, gathering 40 of the world’s top BMX riders for the event’s adrenaline-charged prelim rounds. Series pro, Dennis Enarson’s enormous transfers and powerful riding dominated the custom-spec pro park course to put him in the semi-finals lead. Qualifying in second, crowd favorite Kevin Peraza’s unflinching determination for a place on the podium shook-up the title race, while local hero and speed demon Kris Fox qualified in third. The top 20 riders from today’s semi-finals rounds will advance to the series’ first Vans BMX Pro Cup World Championship finals, Sunday, August 6.

Monster Energy congratulates BMX athletes Colton Walker and Kyle Baldock on their respective gold-medal victories in BMX Dirt and BMX Best Trick on the final day of X Games Minneapolis 2017. Walker took gold in the BMX Dirt competition, and Baldock won bronze. Just an hour later Baldock also won gold in the Dave Mirra’s BMX Best Trick final — his second. Wrapping up competitions at the inaugural X Games Minneapolis fans were treated to a spectacle as Monster Energy athletes dominated the day on their bikes. First up was the BMX Dirt Finals in which riders link up three consecutive jumps ranging in size from 17 to 25 feet before hitting a new addition to this year’s contest, a 10-foot quarterpipe at the end of the course.

The inaugural X Games Minneapolis came to an explosive end on Sunday as 27,000 fans packed U.S. Bank Stadium to cheer on the world’s premiere action sports athletes. With finals for the Fruit for the Loom BMX Dirt, Toyota Men’s Skateboard Park, Dave Mirra’s BMX Park Best Trick and the gravity-defying Real Cost Moto X Quarterpipe High Air followed by a spine-tingling performance by legendary local music act Atmosphere, Sunday was one for the books.

Between massive airs, a stylish 360 tail-whip to table top and a technical 360 nose manual on top of the quarterpipe feature, the 22-year-old from Tucson, Arizona took his first ever gold in BMX Park with a score of 90.33. Day two of X Games Minneapolis saw a crowd of 32,000 enthusiastic fans gather at U.S. Bank Stadium to watch the world's premier action sports athletes battle it out for X Games gold. Action included the BMX Street Final, Women's Skate Street Final, The Real Cost BMX Big Air and the crowd favorite, Pacifico Moto X Freestyle Final.
Following an afternoon of skateboard and BMX Qualifiers, the BMX Street Finals kicked off the evening's competitions. Once again it was the unstoppable Garrett Reynolds who took the top spot, winning his 9th gold medal in the event. Making quick work of the street course, Reynolds landed a

Monster Energy congratulates James Foster for his gold medal finish on the mega ramp at the inaugural X Games Minneapolis. This was Fosters first ever gold in BMX Big Air, an event in which he had placed third in two previous attempts. After a cancelled event last year in Austin due to severe weather, the BMX Big Air returned taking center stage on Friday night at the US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis. Without having to deal with the weather elements, and rallied by the cheers of a rowdy crowd, riders were afforded ideal conditions to take this one-of-a kind event to new heights. Taking the highest single score out of four attempts, the guys were judged on amplitude, style and technical difficulty.
