after he'd kicked off his runs with massive jumps out of the spine onto the banks. Wallwork just as well would have made the cut to the final if he had stayed upright. The tricks he brought to Chengdu were sickerning. Last week's XSA podium finisher Irek Rizaen is one to keep an eye on in the future. He'll be making many finals from here on out. With 2015 TH Pro Freestyle winner Tom van den Bogaard in 12th, Kostya Andreev (RUS) in 11th, it was Alex Nikulin who finished in 10th. His runs kicked off with flair drop-ins from the big quarterpipe and he showed he'll be ready for that high-air contest on sunday just as well. The high T-bogs he did and over rotated were a pleasure for the eye. 040BMXPARK riders Kenneth Tancré, Paul Thoelen and Daniel Wedemeijer finished on places 9, 8, 7 respectively. 6th was for Mike Varga (CAN) who was dealing with bad sight and is trying to fix that for Sunday's final. Drew Bezanson was the only one to hit the top of the big wall by doing a clean ice to footjam on it to get 5th. It was amazing to see Jake Leiva ride to his potential. The early morning practice session sure paid off. He was all over the course and pulled everything he had his mind set on. A well deserved 4th place qualifying spot and ready for Sunday's finals. With Daniel Sandoval in third, Dhers in second and Logan Martin if first, the pre-qualified riders once again showed that they're taking this comp serious. We'll have to see who gets the clean runs in on Sunday added with a last trick that makes this comp one to watch. Stay tuned.
