The Englishman was all over the place starting off his run with a super high T-Bog from the spine into the bank and ended his second run with a display of tech lip tricks. Alex Nikulin's first run was off the hook. There's no holding back for the Russian who had just recovered from a wrist injury. Flair drop-ins? No problem. Third was for Holland's Daniel Wedemeijer who cruised around the park like no other simply enjoying his solo time on the FISE ramps. XSA Podium finisher Irek Rizaev (RUS) triple whipped to 4th in front of Costa Rica's Kenneth Tencio who stayed on the bike even at sketchy moments. Jake Wallwork adds another country to the top ten. All the way from Australia and busting more flairs in every direction and variation for 6th. Belgium's Kenneth Tancré flipped the weird double jump and double whip transfered into the spine for 7th to finish 0.33 points in front of
Freestyle Gamer Tom van den Bogaard from Ale Blie. Jack Lieva (USA) came all the way from the USA to bust high airs on the quarterpipe and add plenty of tricks for 9th just in front of Germany's Paul Thoelen. Drew Bezanson (CAN) did an ice-pick to footjam on the big wall but took it easy in qualifying knowing he'll make it to tomorrow's program. Same with Kostya Andreev (RUS) who qualified in 12th.
8 more riders made the cut and will be joined by Daniel Dhers (VEN), Mike Varga (CAN), Daniel Sandoval (USA) and Logan Martin (AUS) for tomorrow's semi which will kick off at 16:15hr local time. With only 12 spots up for grabs for the final, it's going to be a good show in smoggy Chengdu.
Check back in tomorrow for more.
