Boulder, Colorado
With over 300 miles of bike lanes, Boulder in Colorado is one of the most bike-friendly cities in the US. Development continues to make this a greener city with connected multi-use pathways for smoother bike routes, and raised bike lanes and sidewalks for safety.

Sixteen of the top Flatland BMX athletes from across the globe will descend on the Crescent City for the 5th edition of Red Bull Circle of Balance on December 17. The hand-selected riders will take their skills to the floor at New Orleans’ iconic Mardi Gras World - a venue as atmospheric and artistic as the sport itself. In the run-up to the World Championships, Nikita Ducarroz had been diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus, but in Abu Dhabi the BMX freestyle specialist was able to show her potential. As in the previous year, the Olympic medalist finished second place. The Swiss American explains in the interview what the medal means to her and talks about her next big goal. Nikita Ducarroz won the silver medal at the BMX Freestyle World Championships held as part of the Urban Cycling Championships in Abu Dhabi. After an unsuccessful first run, the 26-year-old from Geneva living in North Carolina advanced to second place thanks to an excellent performance in her second run. As at last year’s World Championship in Montpellier, the Olympic bronze medalist from Tokyo was beaten only by Hannah Roberts from the USA. Olympic champion Charlotte Worthington (GBR) finished the competition in fifth place.

These are 8mm movies shot by my uncle Jon Cobin of me (Matt Macarewich) and my little brother Trevor along with my racing friends from Capistrano Beach, Ca. racing BMX at Escape Country (aka Robinson Ranch) in 1974 and 75. Robinson Ranch is now part of Rancho Santa Margarita. We are wearing red with white sleeve jerseys as part of Paul's Schwinn BMX race team which was based in San Clemente, Ca.
