The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Festival International des Sports Extrêmes (FISE) are pleased to announce the first three rounds of the 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup. The 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup will comprise a total of six rounds, with the first three taking place in Diriyah (Saudi Arabia) in February, Montpellier (France) in May and Brussels (Belgium) in July. The first and third rounds will feature the Park format only, while the second round in Montpellier will include UCI World Cup competitions for Park and Flatland.
2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup calendar
16-18 February: Diriyah (Saudi Arabia) – BMX Freestyle Park
17-21 May: Montpellier (France) – BMX Freestyle Park and Flatland
6-9 July: Brussels (Belgium) – BMX Freestyle Park.
Three more rounds to take place in the second half of the year will be announced at a later date. These will be organised after the 2023 UCI World Championships for the discipline, which will be part of the first UCI Cycling World Championships being held in Glasgow and across Scotland from 3 to 13 August 2023.

How long was the thinking process before you decided to get to work on the book?
We Were Rad: It was a pretty fluid process. We originally made an Old School style ‘Zine’ where we interviewed BMX Royalty such as Bob Haro and Andy Ruffell. This gave us the confidence and the bug to be creative. At the time social media was blossoming and every day new unseen images were appearing. These were the untold story of the kids on the streets, like us. We immediately all felt that these images and stories needed to be collected and told. We Were Rad was born!
