With Dirt, Vert, Street and Park on the program at Nass, Sunday was the day to see the best riding. All NASS Invitational finals were held in Somerset and it all started off with DIRT at 11am. Pretty early for some, but it actually wasn’t the worst time of the day as the temperatures were only on the up afterwards. 12 riders made finals with Seth Murray just missing out which indicates the level as Mr. Murray is killing it. Qualification had two runs with the best run counting. The Dirt section consisted of a roll-in to double, double, to small step-up platform to quaterpipe to turn around followed by a small drop, little roller to small step-up as the last jump. The reason why the dirt jumps weren’t huge is that it gets windy at Shepton Mallet so even with a bit of wind, the riding could still happen. Qualification was done in n-time because the England – Sweden game was on an hour after Dirt qualification started. Needless to say, the qualifying job got done and people moved to the big screen on the main stage soon after.

Sunday’s final brought the riders back to the dirt jumps for 3 runs of which 2 would count towards a final score. Unfortunately Joe Baddely over rotated a double flip on the first set which ended his riding at NASS. A speedy recovery is wished from this side. Also Del Shepherd and Joe Ferguson did not have the best of luck but the Brits are hard as nails and always get back up. Lots of riders were doing double or even triple duty at Nass. Plug and play! The beauty of the Big Air Bag is that you roll it out, put the plug into the electrical outlet and a giant landing occurs right in front of you. But it doesn't stop there as a roll-in is needed that sends you to the take-off with enough speed to clear the gap. As usual the 040BMXPARK crew had taken care of everything and did the measurements of the height of the roll-in that was needed and the took care of the correct dimensions of the launch ramp. The only thing the riders needed was the balls to roll in and send it. It was an opportunity for some to learn new tricks. The set-up was out there for anyone to use and with riders like Shaun Gornall, Niels van Maaren, Paul Thoelen, Tom van den Bogaard, Shanice Silva Cruz, Erik van de Wardt, Daniel Wedemeijer, Jari Roggeveen and a whole bunch of young rippers, the session lasted all afternoon.

The fourth stop of the FISE Experience series took place in Reims, France over the weekend. With BMX Flatland and BMX Park on the program and a cool park outside to ride, many riders made it over to Champagne-city to hold up the biggest check at the end of the day. With a live feed happening online and a Park course that was huge, these Fise Experience series are looking more and more like the big deal. Check who rode the best in Reims and enjoy the photos.

The third annual 040 BMX Invitational Spine Miniramp contest took place in Eindhoven, Netherlands on Saturday 30 June. With riders from 6 different countries in the 12-man final, the riding heated up quickly. Under the bright sun and a purse of €5000 available for the top 7 the finalists had 2 runs to show their best riding. With the best run counting it was possible to go full throttle from the start. Needless to say the level of riding on the 040 BMX PARK Spine ramp was amazing with riders pushing eachother run after run. The podium places went to Justin Dowell (3rd), Mark Webb (2nd) and the victory was for an excited Tom Justice (GBR). Music playing in the background, smoke from the BBQ is drifting around. A single dirt jump with a make shift quarter pipe at the end, a bunch of BMX riders hucking tricks and enjoying each others company without a trace of competitiveness.
