Garrett Reynolds Claims Victory at 2nd Annual Vans BMX Street Invitational in Huntington Beach
Vans concluded the second annual BMX Street Invitational at Off The Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach where the world’s most talented BMX street riders battled for top honors and a chance to take home a piece of the $25,000 cash purse. With a stacked field of thirty-two competitors, the bar was set high by New Jersey’s Garrett Reynolds who claimed victory, taking home first place and $5,000 for his innovative tricks and dynamic riding.
“Today was my first time riding this park, it’s an awesome facility and everything about the park is perfect” exclaims Garrett. “To be out here riding with my friends and watching everyone progress is my passion, this is what I live for.”

Speed, height, power and originality were in full force today, as the inaugural Vans BMX Pro Cup Series Global Qualifier re-commenced an intense BMX competition in Manly Beach, Australia despite severe weather delays. Beginning with a field of over 30 competitors, Spain’s Sergio Layos seizes the Vans BMX Pro Cup Sydney title, winning first place for executing flawless trick combinations and colossal airs with lightning speed throughout the custom-spec park terrain course. Not far behind him, contest warrior and BMX icon Dennis Enarson placed 2nd, delivering his signature performance, blasting through runs with effortless style and explosive lines. In a well-deserved 3rd place, Larry Edgar surprised all with his fearless momentum, consistency, and creativity, also earning him the LUX Best Trick award for his tuck no-hander to table hip transfer, over the spine.
SUM UP of the Vans BMX pro cup: This year, beautiful Manly beach was welcoming the very first international BMX competition in Australia in the context of the Vans BMX Pro Cup series. Manly represents the first stop of the tour, next Spain and Mexico. To start well this new tour, some of the best names in the industry had been invited; Pat Casey, Kevin Peraza, Alex Hiam to name a few....
Last week the regional qualifications already showed a great level from riders highly motivated to take part in this brand new event and to challenge riders invited from the US and Europe. This in a bowl designed and made especially for the occasion. The riders kicked it off during the semi-finals last Friday, but unfortunately the bad weather interrupted the event before the end.

most talented BMX riders to the shores of Manly Beach for a premier showcase of BMX competition! With the final competitive field secured, the series’ first Global Qualifier event anticipates an explosive exhibition of invited pro riders, wildcards, and regional talent. Kicking off with an open Regional Qualifier (RQ) event earlier this week, the Vans BMX Pro Cup Series crowned Australian local Boyd Hilder as the first regional winner, leading an eager group of 12 top riders who advance to the main event beginning March 3. The event will host two Best Trick obstacle challenges, sponsored by LUX BMX, granting the most creative and innovative riders with a special cash prize.
Monster Energy’s Kyle Baldock Crowned Overall Champion at the Toyota BMX Triple Challenge in Atlanta
Monster Energy congratulates Kyle Baldock on being crowned the overall champion of the inaugural three-stop Toyota BMX Triple Challenge. A scaled-down event that’s sole focus is to progress the level of tricks possible, the Toyota BMX Triple Challenge brought the best riders in the world to compete in a two jump, winner takes all huckfest. With a first place win in Anaheim, CA and a second place in Glendale, AZ, Baldock came to the third and final event in Atlanta with an 11-point lead. But, with the unique format of the event that gives points to the Best Trick event winner, the overall championship was really open for several heavy hitters to include Brandon Loupos, Nick Bruce, and Logan Martin to take the win.
Things are going down in South Africa this weekend. The Night Harvest dirt contest tok place today and it was England's Declan Brooks who showed solid riding to get first place. Pat Casey (USA) knows how to ride some dirt having trails in his own backyard and finsihed 2nd right in front of a flipping and spinning party animal called Brian Fox (USA). The park comp is on the program for Sunday. Wit some superheroes in town this is going to be a good one as well.

The 17th edition of the annual Simple Session contest went down this weekend, 4 – 5th of February at the Saku Arena in Tallinn, Estonia. The BMX contest was for the first time held in two separate disciplines. Two-time Simple Session winner Garrett Reynolds USA won the BMX street contest, Reed Stark USA was second and Simone Barraco ITA third. In BMX park, Larry Edgar USA, a top qualifier in several Simple Session's, finally landed his long-awaited win. Daniel Dhers VEN placed second and Jack Clark GBR third."Larry Edgar took the riding level to new heights, sending his airs higher than everyone else and made it look good with style for miles. For his unique transfers the judges rewarded the Californian with maximum points.
