After in-depth examination, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) announced today that onboard cameras on helmets shall be mounted solely on detachable visors/peaks that have been provided by the helmet manufacturer for use with the helmet in question. This provisional authorisation will stand until tests currently being carried out by helmet manufacturers satisfy them that the onboard cameras in no way interfere with the functionality of the helmets.

Brookings will soon be home to a brand new Pump Park, built by PumpTrax USA of Columbus, Ohio. The three dirt tracks for bicycles are part of the Dakota Nature Park in the south part of town. It's not a dirt cheap form of recreation but this $20,000 dirt track facility will be a welcomed addition to the Brookings bike trail. Brookings Parks and Recreation Director Pete Colson says it's taking 100 truck loads of dirt to get the job done.

Last weekend saw the Haro UK Race Team hit rounds 5 & 6 of the British BMX Series at the new track in Cumbernauld, Scotland. This is the first national race to be held in Scotland for 23 years! The track was big and wide so it made for some really fast racing with minimal crashes! Saturday saw Imogen, Eddie, Josh, Cal and Abbie make the main final.
