Haro UK at the British BMX Series Rounds 5 & 6 Cumbernauld, Scotland

Last weekend saw the Haro UK Race Team hit rounds 5 & 6 of the British BMX Series at the new track in Cumbernauld, Scotland. This is the first national race to be held in Scotland for 23 years! The track was big and wide so it made for some really fast racing with minimal crashes! Saturday saw Imogen, Eddie, Josh, Cal and Abbie make the main final. Mark and Lewis just missed out in the semi final but both went on to win the B-final. Imogen was first up and saved her best lap for the final finishing in 3rd place. Eddie was racing his first national after

his fall at round 2, you couldn?t tell as he was on fine form. The final didn?t quite go to plan and he finished in 7th but this left him fired up and ready for Sundays race!

Josh and Cal were both riding in Championship Men which is a stacked category. Cal qualified for the Elite Men main and finished on the podium in 2nd place. Josh qualified for the championship men final and crashed out in the second berm leaving him taking 8th place. Abbie was consistent all day with 1st and 2nd finishes.

The final was down to Abbie and Charlotte Green, it was a great race with Charlotte just stealing the win and Abbie finishing in 2nd place. Sunday was a similar story to Saturday but with Mark making the main and Josh having to settle for the B-final. Lewis went on to win the B-final again really showing that he destined for that main! Mark had a great start hitting the 1st turn in 3rd place, he pushed hard to the line nearly stealing 2nd but had to settle for his 3rd place podium finish. Imogen had a hard race getting stuck in a lot of traffic and had to settle for 8th. Eddie was ready to improve on Saturdays result and he certainly did that! Going in to the second turn he found a gap that nobody else would of seen and jumped in to first place! He held this position to the line and took the win! Charlotte gave Sundays race a miss so Abbie had an easier ride and comfortably took the win in Championship Women.

Cal missed out on the Elite Men main but took the win in Championship Men. With 7 podium finishes it was a great weekend for the team. Next stop is Peckham on the 20th and 21st of June. Thanks for the support!
