After the first 2021 stop in Le Havre, the French Urban Sports tour will make a stop in Canet-en-Roussillon on September 18th and 19th for BMX and Roller Freestyle Park competitions. Completed with BMX Flatland demonstrations, this free and open to all event (on presentation of a health pass) promises to bring together all generations for a weekend full of Action Sports.

It's always a hell of a drive going to Eurobike. Especially the trip home after spending a couple of days on your feet and sleeping less than normal is rough. But if you want to know what's going on in BMX and its industry, it doesn't hurt being present. With little expectations Philip and I left Helmond for FN. We made a quick stop at the Hockenheim F1 circuit where the Swiss Porsche Cup was held. After the mid trip break we made it to Friedrichshafen 9 hours after we'd left home. As I said, a bit of a drive.
The pre-printed media passes worked so we made it in without any problems. Media centre West was closed which was an indication that this year's Eurobike show was smaller than usual. In fact, some

The official NK BMX Freestyle 2021 will take place in Skateland Rotterdam on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September. In that weekend it will be determined who can call themselves Dutch BMX Freestyle Champion for a year. BMX was part of the Olympic Games for the first time in Tokyo this year and is now officially an Olympic sport. Fans can now also attend an impressive championship closer to home. The NK BMX Freestyle 2021 is part of Rotterdam Street Culture Week that takes place in Skateland, among other places.
Three disciplines
In addition to the traditional Park and Street disciplines that were introduced in 2018 and 2020, a new discipline has been added. Flatland is an officially recognized part of the Dutch Championship for the first time. National Championships are now being held in 3 BMX Freestyle disciplines. 'Street' is ridden on the Street Park course where mainly tricks are done from stairs and rails. Park is ridden on the 'Park' course that mainly has high quarterpipes, boxes and spines'. 'Flatland' is sometimes called 'breakdancing with a BMX bike', the participants perform on a flat floor and do various tricks and combinations there. On Saturday September 11, the competition will take place in the Street and Flatland categories. The Park category will be held on Sunday 12 September.

Qualifying round 2021 Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships September 18 at Urban Sportpark in Eindhoven
Olympic BMX race athletes Twan van Gendt and Merel Smulders will participate in the Red Bull UCI Pump Track on September 18 in Eindhoven. The Dutch qualification for the world championship has been officially under the UCI flag since 2019. This means that the winner can wear the rainbow jersey for a year. But amateur riders can also participate on September 18. The winners will eventually represent the Netherlands at the Red Bull UCI Pump Track Word Championships in Portugal.
