What parts do you change most often?
Niels Bensink: Grips, Tires and Brake Pads. I love the feeling of worn out grips though. Who are some of the people who hook you up with parts when you need them?
Niels Bensink: Willie Meijer (our mechanic) and the rest of the crew at Meybo Bikes and Michael Gamstetter at BOX Components.
Do you care about the looks of your bike?
Niels Bensink: I do care about the looks, but I have no word in how our bike looks. I just try to keep it fresh for as long as I can. Does she have to be clean at all times before you hit the track?
Niels Bensink: I like my bike to be clean every session in the summer, but during the winter it’s too difficult to keep her clean with our weather so I clean her once a week. But on raceday she has to shine!
What tire pressure do you run?
Niels Bensink: 6.1 Bars/ 90 PsiWhen it gets technical, who helps out with your bike?
Niels Bensink: I try to do most things myself, but sometimes I have to call my dad or Willie Meijer for help. When it comes to perfecting my set-up I only trust Willie.
Any special reason for the colour combination of your bike?
Niels Bensink: What is the Dutch team without the colour orange? We run this colour, because it is not too flashy but it still fits our gear.
Does weight matter much to you?
Niels Bensink: I have never checked the weight of my bike until now. I guess that says enough…
Thanks to: FATBMX, the Dutch National Team and our team sponsors, my mum&dad and my brother for all the help and support!
