The penultimate round of the 2014 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup concluded on Sunday in Argentina where Alise Post (St. Cloud, Minn./Redline) earned a silver medal in the women's supercross event. Post, who qualified in first on Saturday, got the inside lane but couldn't catch a hard-charging
Mariana Pajon (COL) who took the lead right out of the gate and never relinquished it. Post finished second to the reigning world champ while
Melinda McLeod (AUS) rounded out the top three. Americans
Brooke Crain (Visalia, Calif./Haro Bicycles) and
Dani
George (Palmdale, Calif.) were fourth and sixth in the main event.
Two Americans made it to the men's main. Connor Fields (Henderson, Nev./ Chase/Monster) and David Herman (Wheat Ridge, Colo./Free Agent Bicycles) placed sixth and seventh respectively in the event which was won by Maris Stromberg (LAT). The silver and bronze medals went to Liam Phillips (GBR) and Tory Nyhuag (CAN).
The final round of the World Cup will be held in Chula Vista, Calif., Sept. 26-27.
