Okay, okay, I know, I'm way behind on some of the updates but I hope to get them in later this week. The LG Action Sports Tour stop in Spain is one of the reports that has just been sitting there. I wonder who wants to read about it now but for those who do want to know what happened, read on. The stop in Barcelona had a street contest and a halfpipe demo. After two sketchy street courses in Munich and Paris, the third container showed up in Barca and made the transportable street course a lot better. A street course like this 10 years ago would have been "the shit" and still today, it could have been a lot worse. Having the tour stop in Spain was interesting. Except for a few French riders and nomad Axel Juergens, all participants came from Spain. There are a few Spanish riders that do travel internationally (like Sergio Layos) but most of the riders here never get the chance to travel to all the big comps. For them a stop like this is a unique opportunity.

The Dew Action Sports Tour, the first-ever, season-long professional multi-sport tour in action sports, announced the winner of the PlayStation(r) Trick of the Week Award from the Vans Invitational. Voting began after competitions at the Dew Action Sports Tour's Vans Invitational ended Sunday, August 21. Fans were able to view video clips and vote online at dewactionsportstour.com. Ryan Guettler won the Trick of the Week after he performed a flawless front flip en route to winning the BMX Dirt Finals. Guettler also leads the Dew Cup points standings in BMX Dirt and BMX Park. "This is motivation to keep on pushing the rest of the season," said Guettler. "I'm happy to be consistent this year across two disciplines and leading the points standings in both. I'm also thrilled that the front flip won - it was just a part of my normal routine."

Riding vert is rough but once you make it up there, you get to exciting places all over the world to do shows. One of those places is Barcelona, Spain. When they put the ramp up on the pier next to a topless beach with palm trees, you know that practice has paid off. They fly you in and they pick you up, the fancy hotel is covered, same for food. It's show-time only three times a day and for the rest of the day you can do what you want. John Parker and Eduardo Terreros were the BMX part of a demo that was going on during the LG Action Sports World Tour. If you think they were holding back during shows, think again. Even big crashes on flairs didn't hold Edu back trying it again and again. He pulled it in the end but the Spaniard needed some liquid painkillers at night to get the groove on and forget about the pain. Big 540-s and double tailwhips from Parker is what you get to see when he drops in. Doesn't sound like holding back to me.

Artsy Fartsy shows in BMX are nothing new but it's cool when organizations and photographers/artists go out of their way to make it happen. At the Rebel Jam in Berlin, Germany most of the respected BMX photographers had photos on display and were present at the very cool photo exposition. A few DJ's kept the tunes going, drinks were available and a good time was had by all. Enjoy this photo report of the photo expo from the 2005 Rebel Jam.

Photo captions are a nightmare for magazine editors. Coming up with something good and/or funny for every photo drives the editors crazy, especially in times when the deadline is coming up and you're already lacking 3 nights of sleep. While the NBL held the grands on the Eastcoast, the ABA had a pro race going on in Reno, a city similar to Las Vegas. The 2005 NBL BMX racing season has come to an end with the Grands being held in Kentucky last weekend. Samantha Cools and Mike Day are the new NBL champions. Check if your favorite rider made it to the top three in the overall standings or if they scored some cash at the race in Louisville. 2005 NBL Title Results: Elite Men:

DJ Lavaman and DJ Tommi will work the turntables at the Transbull jam in Utrecht on 17 September 2005. The jam, contest and workshops will be held at the Transwijk skatepark. The workshops start at 13:00pm, followed by the jam at 15:00pm and the Trick Contest at 17:00pm. When the Inline demo starts at 18:00hr you are allowed to leave the premises. Braun have set up two series this year, one for flatland and one mini ramp tour. The winner of the flatland series wins a Suzuki Motorcycle where the winner of the mini contest series drives home in a Jimny car. Pease note that there are only three stops left for this year to score points:

NEW YORK - August 31, 2005 - The Dew Action Sports Tour, the first-ever, season-long multi-sport professional tour in action sports, will host the International Cycling Union (UCI) BMX Supercross World Cup Finals as the specialty competition at the Toyota Challenge on Friday, September 9 in San Jose, CA. The fourth stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour, the Toyota Challenge takes place September 8-11 at San Jose’s HP Pavilion, and features professional competitions in skateboarding, BMX and freestyle motocross. The event also includes a Festival Village with interactive courses, video gaming and athlete autograph sessions.
