Friday, November 30 marked the end of what will forever be remembered as the longest and most courageous battle between one man, a man we all know as the world's greatest daredevil, and death. Robert Craig "Evel" Knievel died in Clearwater, Florida, finally succumbing after nearly a three-year bout with the terminal lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He was 69. His death was preceded by more than 40 years of constant battle against the persistent pain of broken bones and severe trauma after jumping and crashing motorcycles like no man had ever done before. Dirtjump contests don't get much better than the Red Bull Elevation in Whistler, Canada. First of all, take that location. It's one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's got hotels, it's got bars, it's got bears and it has those huge lifts that take you to the top. In the wintertime the place is filled with snowboarders. In the summer the mountain bikers invade the town and in 2010 Whistler hosts the Olympic Winter Games. But there is one weekend in the year that makes more sense for BMX-ers to make the trip up there; The Red Bull Elevation. The jumps are built well in advance to make sure they're perfect when the best riders in the world arrive. Going down the hill it's possible to build bigger stuff (more airtime) and with some money (and prestige) on the line you know this place goes off.

The Superstar website is updated and redesigned. It's been online for 30 minutes now... 2008 stuff is now visible online and it will be possible to download the product catalogue very soon. New feature of the site is the frame comparator: 1 page to compare specs between New Deal and Light My Fire frame. Easier than switching from one page to another.
