X Games Shanghai 2019 Day One News and Results – Ryan Williams Defends BMX Big Air Gold. ESPN proudly lifted the curtain on a new destination for X Games at a one-of-a-kind venue adjacent to Shanghai Disney Park in Shanghai with an action-packed first day. The final competition of the evening was BMX Big Air, where Australia’s Ryan Williams defended gold with a mind-blowing frontflip bri-flip over the gap and frontflip flair on the quarterpipe. Williams’ first X Games competition was only X Games Minneapolis 2018, and while he missed the podium on his first appearance, he’s won gold both times subsequently. Williams edged out Vince Byron on the last run of the competition. Fellow Aussie Byron took silver (91.66) and American James Foster added to his medal collection with bronze (87.66).

Here is a round up of all the action from today and a little recap of what you might have missed at last night's insane BMX Dirt competition. It took 7 years for BMX DIRT (one of the original and main disciplines of FISE) to return to the programme of Montpellier, and last night was worth the wait. The atmosphere was electric, as the sun set and the riders prepared to take on the massive Hurricane Tracks course. The line up was a who's who of BMX Dirt with 60 riders taking part. It was a night of stand out moments, but we have to mention the front bike flip landed by Jaie Toohey. He is one of only two guys on the planet to do that unreal trick. Amazingly his run was only good enough for 3rd, which shows how high the level was last night. In 1st place was Pat Casey who despite the wind

The Waffle Jam 2019 - DIG BMX. The Waffle Jam is annual BMX jam hosted by Vans South Africa in the Mother City of Cape Town. This years Jam gave collaboration a whole new meaning with a large amount of DIY. The project was lead by Vans team rider Brandon Blight, who saw potential in a newly repurposed high school swimming pool as the venue for this years event. The pool has been empty for many years and has lost its structural integrity, deeming it unsafe for use as a swimming pool. In recent years, local skate legend Dallas Oberholzer had come to an agreement with Cape Town High School to allow for DIY concrete trannies to but built inside the school, with the end goal of a unique skatepark in mind. The pool is not yet open to the public, aside from one skate event. Brandon and Dallas put their heads together and began to plan what the BMX riders of Cape Town could contribute to this new park. With only a few weeks away from Cape Towns winter settling in, the planning and building began. More trannies were added in the shallow side of the pool for flow, with the intention of leaving deep end un-modified, as many could agree, it was gnarly enough as it stood. Many riders and homies came through with different skill sets to prepare the pool, ramps, school grounds and cater for the event. Luck was on our side and Cape Town showed us her finest colours, resulting in a warm, wind-less day for the jam. The biggest, most extreme and craziest festival in Croatia is about to start. Don't miss the 20th anniversary of Pannonian Challenge. Only two days are left until the opening of the jubilee 20th Pannonian Challenge, the biggest festival of extreme sports in this part of Europe. Throughout five days of the festival, our visitors this year will be able to enjoy top adrenaline entertainment, concerts of regional music stars, party until the dawn, excellent gastronomic offer and socializing with visitors from all over the world. Pannonian Challenge begins on Wednesday, June 5 and lasts until Sunday June 9, and the location is well-known - the left bank of the river Drava in Osijek. On the opening day of the festival, on Wednesday June 5th, famous Croatian bmxer and current world champion Marin Ranteš will with official BMX judge Igor Vukadinovic Pokijem held BMX school for children in the best equipped skate park in the region.
School begins at 3.00 p.m. At 8:30 p.m. volunteers will let lanterns from the Osijek pedestrian bridge and announce the jubilee 20th Pannonian. Exhibition action sports photography and presentation of a book "20 Years Pannonian" will be held in the Casemates at 9.00 p.m., after the opening ceremony DJ Omer and DJ Umbo will entertain guests until the early morning hours. Thursday is a day dedicated to skate in, at 6.00 p.m. the skate finals, at 7:30 p.m. awards, and from 9:00 p.m. party moves to Vega where we will party with Silente, Gužva u 16ercu and Harvo Jay. Friday is reserved for inline and scooter. From 4:30 p.m. in the skate park you can watch scooter session, while the inline pro finals in 6.00 p.m.
