Athletes attending the Enoshima World Cup have been training at Sakai Park since February 17th, in preparation for the competition.
A lasting legacy
After the excitement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the spirit of sport and freestyle is returning to the town of Sakai with the reinstallation of the Park. Designed to reflect the essence of BMX Freestyle and urban culture, and to welcome the world's best athletes, the Sakai Park will give as many people as possible the chance to discover the discipline. This initiative, supported by the town and Hurricane Group, is in line with the Group's CSR policy of not allowing facilities of this scale to deteriorate or be abandoned.
"Sakai is a great partner of Urban Sports. Hosting such a Park gives the Sakai youth the chance to move, to train, to enjoy and have a social life. Here skateboarders, roller freestyle riders, scooter freestyle riders and BMXers, amateurs, or world legends, can express themselves in the best way. This venue is unique in the world as until now, only around twenty professional riders have had the opportunity to ride the Park during the Games", said Olivier Pascal, International Development Director at Hurricane Group.
