Kyle Baldock, in his first year on the Dew Tour, came through Qualifiers in Ocean City to take the first place win in park, blowing open his lead for the Dew Cup after placing second in Portland, where he fell short to contender Scotty Cranmer. The BMX dirt course, designed by Las Vegas local TJ Lavin, will be home to another heated competition in Vegas. Dennis Enarson has been a strong Dew Tour competitor since turning pro in 2007, but has yet to earn his Dew Cup. He will look to hold his current standing in first place over 17-year-old phenom Brett Banasiewicz, who wowed the crowd on the technical and challenging course in Salt Lake City. Running Thursday through Saturday, the free Festival Village offers something for everyone attending the Dew Tour. As the official bike partner of the Dew Tour, Mongoose will have a tent set up with demo bikes available to test your skills on their dirt course. Visit the Pantech booth to see the latest cell phone features and tag the digital graffiti wall, or get a haircut at Paul Mitchell. The Dew Tour athletes of tomorrow can also start practicing at the Camp Woodward mini skatepark. Games, giveaways and athlete autograph signings lend to the excitement of the interactive festival.
The Dew Tour Championships offers a mix of free and ticketed elements throughout the weekend. Festival Village, featuring sponsor activations and competition venues for BMX dirt and park, and Hart & Huntington Best Whip, is free Thursday through Saturday. Tickets to Friday night’s highly anticipated Skate Street Final and 50 Cent concert in The Joint are combined for $65; tables will cost $125 per person. Sunday’s Skate and BMX Vert Finals over the HRH Beach Club Pool can be accessed with a $20 general admission ticket.
