Eight riders have already been confirmed for Duisburg, and their names read like a guarantee for great excitement. X-Games winner and T-Mobile Playgrounds title holder Rob Darden is going to be back in the BMX Dirt Jump competition, where he’ll have to battle it out against 23-year-old Dirt World Champion Anthony Napolitan, living Dirt legend Ryan Nyquist and TJ Ellis.
Action sports meet festival feeling: The first confirmed band of the louder side of things are alternative rockers AFI (A Fire Inside). Together with two more acts they’ll be taking over stage and speakers of the Kraftzentrale. Eight studio albums deep since their 1995 debut, the California-based band has come it’s way from strong punk-, and emo-rock, to a more melodic, more rock sound. “Decemberunderground”, their 2006 release, reached no.1 of the US charts and entered the German top 100, mostly due to the success of the single “Miss Murder”. Actual release: “Crash Love” (Sept. 2009).
