The Metro BMX JAM is taking place at the International Bike Show Toronto, Ontario CANADA this weekend. With $12,000 U.S. Pro purse and Expert prizes and a $1,500 U.S. Oakley Hard Trick contest, the Ricoh Coliseum is the place to be. The Pro class is almost full and they've already got some of the the biggest names in BMX signed up for the 6th annual contest at the Toronto International Bike Show. With guys like Ryan Nyquist, Morgan Wade, Gary Young, Dave Osato, Corey Martinez, Bas Keep, Chris Doyle, Kye Forte, Van Homan and Kevin Porter coming, you just know the riding will be wild, and the styles will be all over the map.
For the second year in a row RedBull invited a bunch of riders to ride a drainage down in San Nicolas, Nuevo Leon (Monterrey), Guadalupe, Mexico. They made a contest out of it and this year the ramps weren't floading down the drain this time. That was good news. 2 Canadians finished on top of the podium followed by a rider from Spain.
Since August 2005 in Cologne has an indoor parc for BMX, MTB and skateboard. In March, the first BMX contest will take place.
Europeans are lucky to have Simon Tabron around. He fires out the awesome 900 when he feels like it. Down under it's up to Tim Wood to get the job done (or Luke Fink on street).
The 2006 Pop! session in Tallinn was a nice one. We reported from Estonia earlier this year. Now the organization sent us a report and we thought we'd just put it up as well. It's got some nice pics. More Estonia for y'all.
The BMX Games over in Australia had everything; Vert, Mini, Dirt, Park and FLATLAND! Flatland went like this for pro. The top four battled it out in their own jam.
