On the top of the Flatland world for quite some years now, frenchman Matthias Dandois is always a favorite when attending a contest. Extremely focused and talented, inventing tricks and links with an extra taste of style to it; Matthias is no longer a kid and he has proven it all weekend long with some solid riding. Facing a very motivated duo of Adam Kun and Joris Bretagnolles in today’s final battle, Matthias delivered his best riding in a very nice atmosphere. People gathered closely to the Flatland area, bare feet on clean grass, under a warm sun and rising arms towards a pumped up dj, BMX Flatland proved again its spectacularity.
BRANDON LOUPOS DOMINATES THE UCI BMX FREESTYLE PARK World Cup. With all the best riders in the world of BMX Freestyle Park, Denver was already a success by its historical line up. In a typical late and sweet afternoon that could make us think of the best times of FISE Montpellier, BMX showed again its power of attraction. The American crowd is obviously familiar to the sport and this was not a surprise that it reacted so well to the crazy combos thrown by the 12 finalists.
On a park that seemed to suit him well, everyone expected Logan Martin to take the win and bring back some points in the race for the overall ranking. Unfortunately he failed surprisingly on a triple whip and was limited to 6h place.
His eternal rival Daniel Dhers chose another path and took very few risks to assure a second place, with nothing special to tell his future grand kids but enough points to take a serious advantage on Logan.
On the third place of the podium, Jack Clark from the Cosmos amazed us again with his unique style and more tricks we could count. One of them still attracted our attention, a 360 invert on the worst ramp you could think of doing it. Jack is really in a good year and there is no reason for him to stop charming us with his rad attitude.
But the winner who took it all - with any doubt and a large margin - is no stranger to the FISE but not a usual visitor as well. Brandon Loupos from Australia did impress us in FISE World Malaisia before but this weekend he was on fire! Qualified first on Saturday he just went off this Monday with two clean runs full of big tricks including a very dangerous cashroll on the double jump. A well deserved win that might be the beginning of a nice story between the FISE and Mister Loupos.
ALL LOVERS, ALL WINNERS. Talking about story, how not to mention the incredible moment that concluded this event, when a 19 year old amateur BMXer called Chucky pulled a crazy double front flip at the end of the pro final. He was already known from everyone around as his crash on the same trick the day before went mentaly viral during the night. The video is worth the look…specially when Chucky confessed us « dreaming of pulling it on FISE Stage ». A dream came true, an example of passion and commitment that is very inspiring for the riders, organisors and partners of FISE familly. It was one of this moment when you realise that these sports are actually doing a lot of good around them, that they provide love for everyone. Everyone lovers, everyone winners.
We will test again, again and again, until the wheels fall off. Starting in two weeks in Edmonton, Canada for the next stage of the FISE WORLD SERIES.
