Dirt at Fise Experience in Reims. Tancré and Carrot get dirty!

Dirt is always one of the highlights at any BMX event. It got added to the FISE Experience event in Reims which only had BMX and Skateboarding this year. Next to the indoor Park course and the outdoor Dirt jumps, the skateboarding got done on the temporary street course next to the dirt jumps. A big roll-in got the riders up to speed for the first set followed by a slight hip to the left, a speed jump and the last set which wasn't all that big, but big enough to throw the last tricks on.

After qualifying 8 riders made the final. Dirt riders from 5 nations lined up for three runs each and the big crowd got ready for it. The overview from the giant parking lot was great, especially because the first two jumps were placed on a higher level. Joel Bondu (CAN) had Park Finals coming up right after Dirt just like Thibaut Panaville (FRA), Tom van den Bogaard (NED), Anthony Jeanjean (FRA) and Kenneth Tancré from Belgium. It was double duty for all those riders with double practice and double finals.

Joel Bondu couldn't stick one run that he planned on doing on the dirt jumps and ended up 8th. Louis Peyre (FRA) is a true dirt rider and was whipping on every set because he felt like it. The jump were liked by the riders and Thibaut Panaville threw some nice no-handers and truckdrivers on the various sets for 6th. Red Bull youngster Inaki Mazza from Argentina jumped up and down after every run as if he was having the time of his life. He probably was and accepted the 5th place Fise Experience cheque. Justin Fouque (FRA) came all the way from Marseille to ride some dirt which resulted in a €400,= prize for 4th place. The first podium spot in Reims was for Holland's Tom van den Bogaard who showed he can ride pretty much anything and make it look good at the same time. 2nd place was for crowd favourite Anthony Jeanjean (FRA) who did tricks like a barspin flip to no-hander and 3 double whips over the first set followed by a double whip or 360 double whip on set two, to whatever was left in the tank on the last two sets. For his winning run, Kenneth Tancré pulled a flip barspin on set one which had the crowd going. He followed it up with a double DS whip on set two, did a t_bog over the speed jump and ended with a barspin 720 on the last set.

Although most of these podium finishers don't ride dirt on a regular basis, they sure showed they can bring the tricks to the jumps when they have to. It's time to get dirt back on the program for FISE World in 2017. Let's raise that roof!
