Tricks that have never been landed before (called world´s first) were shown at the BMX and MTB section.
 
A world premiere was shown by 20year old Nicholi Rogatkin. As he stomped the trick for the first time ever in MTB history, he is allowed to give the trick a name: “The Twister” aka. “The twisty wizard” is born.
 
Nicholi Rogatkin: „Masters of Dirt – the preprogrammed insanity. All riders have shown their very best tricks during four shows. Landing “The Twister” is a crazy feeling. It was absolutely amazing!”

Also 37year old Patrick Guimez from France showed the crowd a „world´s first”, which was actually not planned:
Patrick Guimez: „It is great to start the season with the best show of the whole year. I am really thankful to be part of Masters of Dirt Family riding together with the best athletes of the world. I have been working really had to show the best and especially the newest tricks here in Vienna. Every day I have been training in the rain to land the „triple flip“ (triple backflip) at MOD 2016.  Unfortunately I was not able to do the triple flip, but the most important thing is to stay healthy and happy. At least I  was able to show another world premiere: double flip turndown. I keep on training and can´t wait for the next show of Masters of Dirt.“

The segment „Kids are the Future“ was really heart-warming. Eight years old Benjamin, four years old Samy and three years old Dillan were paddling through the arena like the „Big Boys“, creating an amazing moment for super talent Marcus Christopher. This 13 years old BMX crack has been travelling from USA to come to Masters of Dirt. He was already jumping the huge kickers of the show.
 
With a completely new light design, the Stadthalle in Vienna became a “Throne-Arena” straight out of the future. Four FMX Riders were jumping in LED suits over the ramps which have been illuminated with LEDs. This is a really special challenge as the athletes can almost see anything with the arena being totally dark besides the LED lights, not knowing where they are exactly jumping at: a real treat for the eyes of the spectators, who were able to see them even better.

An outstanding highlight was the 800kg heavy Polaris buggy of Jerry Mayr. He made a huge backflip with his machine accompanied by a lot of pyro.
 
Masters of Dirt stands for freestyle on a highest level. But Safety is still the most important point. All in all a completely new show, which was blowing the action sports fans mind away.
