impressed by the level of talent and unbelievable progression of athletes that are not on the radar yet, we know we have something special. Being able to put the spotlight on the new generation of BMX riders, while still providing the biggest BMX athletes an event series to showcase their skills, is what the Recon Tour is all about.” - Robby Burleson (Recon Tour Manager)Taking the Open AM first place was Bryce Tryon. The young California rider now becomes the sixth AM set to compete at the Recon Tour PRO/AM final at The Unit in Greenville, NC this November. At only 14 years of age Bryce is a BMX powerhouse who not only has established himself as well-rounded park rider but also races BMX and has even provided stunt work for movies and commercials. Bryce started competing in the Recon Tour series at a young age and has shown a great deal of progression every year. Just behind Bryce on the podium was San Diego Native Parker Heath followed by Woodward East resident Jay Dalton closing off the podium with a solid third place finish.
We would like to extend a special thanks to Rye Airfield for providing this amazing facility to host one of the biggest BMX events of the year. Beau and his staff went above and beyond to assure that this event was truly amazing.
In addition we would like to thank Hookit brand partners: Monster Army, Mongoose Bikes, Vital BMX, Rockwell Watches, ODI and Novik Gloves. Big thanks to Jamie Bestwick on the MIC, Ian Abbott on the live web feed, the judges (John Saxton, Josh Kirtland, Zak Earley, Joe Taberna), Jorge Jovel, and of course Trish Bare Grounds.
