- double pegs, 270s and 360s at different heights, front and back manuals and long leaps into the air off the Elvis. The contest pace really picked up when the CrucialBMX gang started their battle. They won this opener with both Dead Sailor BMX and Lifer BMX soon following. The Hobson Cycles brothers looked dangerous after an amazing display of tricks to win their heat, and Entity BMX grinded out a result in this three-way battle with BMX Shop.com falling short. Dead Sailor went head to head with Crucial BMX after.
Big performances in the Pro Park brought a ton of variety. Standout moments came from Dead Sailor’s Team with insane stunt doubles including jumping onto their teammate’s bike from the jump box (Pat Big Daddy Loughran stylish…), jumping over their teammate, and riding under them.
No one envied the judges difficult decision on placing the shops, but it in the end it was rightfully Dead Sailor’s Martyn Wetherelt and Tom Isted that took the title with Lifer BMX settling for second place but their riding duly deserved them a piece of the £2000 purse.
A huge ‘thank you’ goes out to everyone who made this year’s competitions what it was. All the BMX shops, skateparks and supporters from every end of the UK!
Winners: Dead Sailor (Tom Isted & Martin Wetherelt)
Runners Up: Lifer BMX (James Openshaw & Billy Reeves)
