Monster Energy congratulates team rider Jamie Bestwick for doing the unthinkable: winning his ninth gold medal in a row. Since 2007, no other rider has stood atop the vert podium and really, no one has even come close. Bestwick continues to solidify that he’s the most dominate vert rider in history, and at the same time, he extends his X Games record for the most consecutive gold medals.
Set in beautiful downtown Austin, Texas, with the capital building

directly adjacent to the vert ramp, nearly 12,000 people braved the Texas heat to watch Bestwick lay down an epic first run with a flair whip, one-footed seat grab 540, fastplant opposite flair, and even the elusive front flip flair that won him the most recent Dew Tour Championship. The seven other riders attempt to best him, but as it generally goes, Bestwick’s second run would be a victory run.
Immediately after the contest and with his son wearing the gold medal at his side, Bestwick

stayed humble and was quick to give praise to everyone else on the deck that night. Even Jamie is looking forward to watching the rest of his Monster Energy teammates this weekend at X Games Austin, because this is just the beginning.
