The Texas Toast event kicked off today in Austin Texas. The who's who of BMX freestyle seem to have made it to the lumberyard for the third edition of the event. It's BMX the way it should be and that simply attracts people to get together and have some good fun. The classes had filled up quickly meaning that not everyone who made it, actually gets to ride in the contest. Today had practice in dirt, street, and on the vert ramp. The Redline highest wall carve was held as a fun event as well as the Haro Veteran quarterpipe contest for the riders who have reached the age of 35 years or are older than that. Greg Guillotte, Leigh Ramsdell, Kevin Guiterrez, Troy McMurray, Eben Krackau, The Fids, Squirrel, Pat Miller and also
Jim Cielencki is 35 already so he joined the 30 minute session. With judges as
Mat Hoffman, Ron Wilkerson and
Dennis McCoy looking for radness, the riders did not hold back. Towards the end it even turned into a contest where everyone was going for their biggest tricks they still (think they) had in their pockets.
