DAVID LIEB WINS RECON TOUR FINALS
Sixteen-Year-Old Aspiring BMX Pro Takes Home Huge Title

SOLANA BEACH, Calif., August 20, 2013 -- The Recon Tour presented by Replay XD came to a close this past weekend with the Play Am finals being held at Mike Spinner's private backyard park. Recon flew out the individual Play Open class winners from each stop on our 10-city US tour to compete for the title of Recon Tour Champion.

The judges had their work cut out for them as these 10 athletes showed no mercy, went for it all, and held nothing back. Just like every event, only one winner can be chosen. In the Finals, it was David Lieb, 16, from Petersburg, MI, with major consistency and effortless style that landed him the top podium spot and earned him the crown of Recon Tour Champion. Lieb showed tons of different trick variations including a 360 double downside whip and a 360 barspin to tail whip during his runs that the judges were blown away. Along with the title, Lieb walked away with $500, a one-year sponsorship contract with Replay XD, and invite to compete against some of the biggest names in pro BMX at Spinner's Play Pro contest in November.

Each athlete brought his own unique style and signature moves to the big backyard park that Spinner calls home. It was obvious that every rider went home and trained to put on one hell of a show to rival any pro contest. The competitors were throwing tricks like clean double back flips, flip double tail whips over the spine, decades to 360, and multiple tailwhip to barspin maneuvers. Jake Leiva, 19, from Tehachapi, CA, won the MovieTickets.com "Best Trick" award by throwing down a front flip barspin to tuck no hander, landing him a huge trophy and $400 in movie tickets.

We wish David Lieb the best of luck with his future career and want to thank every athlete who competed in the 2013 Recon Tour. It has been an unbelievable journey and we can't wait to showcase what's in store for 2014!
