City battle 8 was a blast once more. After no battle last year due to the park not being done, things where not looking good again this year, since the park was still not done, but thanks to crankbmx and the locals from kooigem, the park was done 1 week before the contest. The weather was great and a turnout of more than 50 riders in a park this small is always great. the level of riding was also insane. bmx is progressing a lot and you can see it. 10 riders during the day pulled a 360 tailwhip.
I can still remember the time that
Jay Miron would get a full page picture for doing that same trick at a contest, and now a lot of the amateur riders can do it. When the contest started we had 20 riders riding in the amateur class and 12 riders in the pro class.

Placing is of not important here since it's more a jam than a contest. Let me just tell you that
Kenneth Tancré was chosen as the winner of the event for just doing insane stuff. After lots of bangers he ended with a bars to no hander transfer, traveling from one end of the park to the other end.
Thanks to Crankbmx, Red Bull and Grounded bmx for sponsoring this event since it would not be possible without them. Thanks to everyone who came and see you next year for City Battle 9!
