Australian Kyle Baldock stepped up his game, beating out a deep BMX Park field to take home his first gold medal at X Games Foz do Iguaçu. After placing seventh at X Games Los Angeles 2012, Baldock rode in consistently early and often with a combination of tailwhips, corked spins and backflip 360.
"Practice was pretty hard for me because I don't ride courses like this,” said Baldock. “But seeing everyone throw down made me want to get out there. And to actually pull it together? Against Pat Casey, well, I have no words. I'm going home the happiest Aussie ever."
Americans Pat Casey and Dennis Enarson took home silver and bronze, respectively – both finishing with final scores of 70.
