Dry! That’s what everybody thought when they checked the weather forecast for the Bensink Bikes Beers and BBQ Jam. It is pretty rare to see a dry weekend in Holland at this time of the year. As there wasn’t a lot of promotion nobody knew what to expect. Some of the locals already came to the Bensink yard on Friday to shape the trails up and get the place sorted for the jam on Saturday. It’s been 2 years since the last event took place in the backyard of
Albert Bensink. This year he came up with the idea to set up a little jam at the end

of the year to get everybody together one more time before winter hits the lowlands. So be said so be done.
Desmond Tessemaker and
Joost Wichman both prepared a piece of the yard during the year so the whole yard was transformed into a dirt paradise.
The day started off with the come of TEAM Brabant. As the flyer said that it would kick of at 2 they came in at 12 already.
Dimitri, Schep, Tom, Sem and
Tosti walked around for a bit checking out the fun and long pump track before getting their bike prepared to hit the trails.

When the day went on more and more people came to Voorst to grab one of the 360 free beers Monster Energy supplied. People were having fun on the pump track and small trails line. Some of them climbed up the roll in to hit the big line with 3 booters.
Emille Bouwman came over all the way from Zeeland to ride his first set of trails. He managed to knock himself out by casing the second jump of the big line and hitting his hand on his own knuckles. After a hospital visit to glue the cut in his cheek together he went on to a competition that was close by in the Burnside skate park.

Lots of riders came over to hit the jumps or to just catch a beer and relax. Riders like
Bart Mol, Nicky van der Veen, Hutten Kees, Patrick Harteveld and of course all the yard locals (
Bas F, Niek, Dyon, Tom, Niels B) rode all day long pushing each other to throw tricks on the big line.
When dusk came in the artificial lights where lit and the campfire was set on fire. Monster Energy pulled the BBQ out of the van and the burgers where baked for everybody. After the food it was time to set up some fun contest we thought of all day. Starting off with a long jump contest in between the big and

small line. More and more people entered during the competition and in the end it was close between
Niek van Gelder and
Dimitris, After they both did their last jump Dimitri took the win and got a nice Finger Clothing package.
During the night the beers flowed away and the party was set, all kinds of fun contest came by from longest manual on the pump track to overall best trick and most jumps on the pump track.
Patrick Harteveld took best trick by flipping out of a berm in the pump track! Fastest time on the pump track went to
Niels Bensink who took his home track advantage, he raced out Olympian
Twan van Gendt and 4cross legend
Joost Wichman.
All with all it was a great day and the party around the campfire went on till deep in the morning. DJ Winchester supplied us with some nice tunes and the rest of the Soulcycle / Staystrong / Finger Clothing goodies where given out to anyone that tried something stupid.

We will be back for sure next year! Be on the lookout for the Bensink Beers Bikes BBQ Jam video by BKN Productions.
Thanks for everybody that came over and big thanks to
Albert and
Annet Bensink for giving us the opportunity to set the yard up on their property. Thanks to Monster Energy for the support and Finger Clothing/ Staystrong / Soulcycle for the goodies to give out.
