We did make it to Las Vegas for Interbike in the end. It was a one-handed trip and shaking hands was done with the lefty but at least we were there. I'm glad too that I made it. The bike show is more of a reunion of BMX-ers/friends than anything else. Oh yeah, there was new stuff to be seen too, we'll make that the reason for our trip. Go through the show with us. We've collected some pics and we'll make up some text to go along with the photos. Ready, set, go! Chrome is back. Believe it or not, but it was out of fashion for so long that it's cool again. GT is feeling the vibe and had this chrome complete bike on display.

Saturday 17th September heralded the official opening of the groundbreaking new GBH Ramps skatepark in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, England. The revolutionary flagship skatepark is the proud owner of the world’s first massive bowled mini ramp, with 6m wide spine and volcano sections fashioned completely out of steel. Christened ‘The Playboy’ this monster structure gives props to the engineering and craftsmanship of the GBH design & installation crew, who have created an immense, seam free curved bowl structure, so smooth it’s obscene. All this has been made possible by the company’s massive investment into new engineering technology and the future of Skate and BMX.

I want to tell the folks out there in the bmx community about a "Biketober fest" jam and fundraiser that I'm helping out with for my home town extreme park. I was asked by the parks committee to host an event at the park in order to raise funds for stage 2, the addition of more ramps and obstacles for the free to ride outdoor skate park. On October 22nd the Stroudsburg extreme park riders will have an all day event with best trick contests on the menue for bmxer's, bladers and skateboarders. I am receiving great support from the media such as the WSBG radio station who is helping by spreading the word about the event and also having me on the "air waves" this Monday (10-10-05) morning at 6am until 10am as a guest to speak about the bmx lifestyle and what's in store for the event. I'll be on The Gary in the morning show 935wsbg.com.

For the last year, Paul Covey has been working at a youth sports center in Joplin, Missouri called "The Bridge." This place is a non-profit organization and is pretty incredible. They've got a ramp park, pro shop, concert venue, rock climbing, ect. Anyway, a brand new facility was built through many generous donations, and they had Nate Wessel and his crew come into town to construct the ramps.

The winners of the Braun cruZer Tour Spine and Flatland have been defined with the last tour stops at Weekend at DaveOs in London and Braun Flatground in Amsterdam. With these two amazing events an extraordinary new tour finished for 2005. The two overall winners Mark Webb (Spine) and Viki Gomez (Flatland) competed very strong again and so underlined their overall cruZer Tour victory with winning the last tour stops as well.

Just to let everyone know, the word is out, the Chenga 1 Skatepark will definitely be shutting down this winter after being open for 10 years. Most likely at the end of January. I am going to put on one last Chenga contest in the beginning of December, and I plan on it being the biggest thing Chenga has ever seen. 2 days this year. I am working on getting sponsors now and making up a schedule, but I wanted to go ahead and get the word out on the date. It's going to be Saturday December 3rd and Sunday December 4th. DIG BMX MAGAZINE has found a new home at 4130 Publishing Ltd, publishers of the UK's RIDE BMX MAGAZINE (AKA "RIDE UK"), effective immediately. The editorial line-up that put DIG together won't change, and the same goes for editorial control, so you won't be seeing T-shirt shootouts in the magazine any time soon. It'll still be DIG, through and through. More so, even: with 4130 behind it, Will Smyth and friends have plans to make DIG the magazine it always wanted to be. It's a moment in BMX history. Have your place in it.
