One Industries and 661 have partnered with the HARO factory BMX racing team for 2015. The international team includes 4 very accomplished riders with numerous national titles and world cup wins. Nic Long, Brook Crain, and Corben Sharrah hail from the USA and Kurt Pickard resides in New Zealand. “We are thrilled to partner with the HARO team to provide Helmets, Gear, Gloves and Protection for 2015. We have been actively supporting athletes in Motocross and Mountain biking since the 1990’s and look forward to providing the same level of support through design and technical performance with our newly signed BMX athletes.”

Entries for BMX Australia’s premier event, the 2015 SUBARU BMX National Championships are now open. The 34th National Championships will be held in at the Brisbane SX Track at the Sleeman Sports Complex, Queensland.

The six-day event to be held from Tuesday, April 28 through to Sunday, May 3 will see 69 classes of racing, with participants ranging from 2 years to 65 years and will also include the UCI BMX Oceania Championships on Thursday, April 30.

The Brisbane SX track and the facilities at the Sleeman Sports Centre are first class, and is a favourite among riders, while also being the only UCI Supercross level track in Australia.

Over 3,000 entrants are expected to compete during the week, and will attract between 10-15,000 spectators, ultimately boosting the local economy with an estimated $10 million in economic benefit from riders and families attending the National Championships.

A National BMX Racing league stop took place in Spain last weekend. This year is the 5th anniversary of the Liga LBR and more and more international racers show up every year. This past weekend they had 12 nationalities racing in Races 1-2 of the season. 40 elite men and women riders from 7 countries raced at the El Campello track a place where some European teams train in the wintertime. Olympic hopeful Bodi Turner claimed his second victory in as many days, while it was a tactically supreme performance by Melinda McLeod that allowed her to storm to victory in round four of the BMX Australia National Series in Shepparton today. In what was an absorbing elite women's final, McLeod seized the race advantage courtesy of a first turn tussle between Caroline Buchanan and Lauren Reynolds. As the two fought for the inside line, McLeod came from out wide to steal the lead, while Buchanan, who didn’t have enough speed to carry the double, lost her momentum and slipped out of contention. McLeod then held off a fast finishing Reynolds to grab victory, with Reynolds finishing in second while Lake Macquarie's Rachel Jones finished in third.
