On August, 4th Snipes Battle Square Rotterdam 2018 was the “KICK OFF” of a European wide TOUR including SIX STAGES in 2019. Open to public and free of charge, Snipes Battle Square brought 14 of the world's best BMX Flatland riders to Rotterdam. This new Flatland format will lead to an exciting Head to Head final where the riders will be Batteling for the GLORY and 7.500.- EUR in prize money.

Vans BMX Pro Cup, the world’s leading platform for elite BMX park terrain competition, turned up the heat today in Huntington Beach, CA for the second Pro Tour stop of the 2018 season at the Vans US Open of Surfing. Despite a minor injury in practice, tour veteran Kevin Peraza surpassed 30 of the world’s leading BMX riders during a heated semi-finals round to qualify in first, merging his expert street skills with his solid park riding style. Local hero Kris Fox’s high-speed riding and lasting ambition for a place on the podium earned him second place, while 2016 Van Doren BMX Invitational event winner Matt Cordova’s enormous airs and unique transfers secured a third place finish. The top ten riders from today’s semi-finals will join the current series point leaders this Sunday, August 5 for the Vans BMX Pro Cup Huntington Beach Pro Tour finals event.

After four days of non-stop action, X Games Minneapolis 2018 came to an end on Sunday evening with finals in Women’s Skateboard Street, Toyota Men’s BMX Park, Harley-Davidson Flat Track and Hooligan Racing as well as one of the biggest events of the weekend, the Monster Energy Men’s Skateboard Street Final. All told, more than 119,000 fans attended this year’s event in the Twin Cities. As the final competition of the weekend the Toyota Men’s BMX Park final went off with a bang. After four silver medals in various BMX events the past two years, Australia’s Logan Martin finally got his gold after unleashing a barrage of tricks on the concrete course. After starting things off with a 720 barspin-to-barspin, he landed a flair whip barspin, a double tail whip and a 540 flair. Awarded a 93.33, it was more than enough to top silver medalist Dennis Enarson’s 91.00 and the charismatic Kyle Baldock’s 88.66.

In one of the most progressive competitions in recent history, and up against an elite field of riders, Fox threw down a bronze medal run worthy of serious acclaim. Day three of X Games Minneapolis continued Saturday with thousands of fans coming to the U.S. Bank Stadium to watch the most talented action sports athletes in the world compete in a wide range of events including the BMX Dirt final, a fan favorite, that was off the charts in terms of the level of talent.

For those in attendance it was an event unlike any other, one that saw more progression and higher scores than perhaps any in the history of the sport. When all was said and done five of the ten

X Games Minneapolis continued Saturday as 47,000 fans passed through the gates at U.S. Bank Stadium to watch the most talented action sports athletes in the world compete in a wide range of events including The Real Cost Skateboard Big Air, the Fruit of the Loom BMX Dirt Final and the crowd favorite Monster Energy Moto X Best Trick. With five scores in the 90’s, the Fruit of the Loom BMX Dirt Finals was ultimately won by Aussie, and X Games rookie, Brandon Loupos. Lining up a combination of tricks that included a double backflip, a cash roll, a triple tail whip and a flair double tailwhip, the Australian’s third run score of 95.00 beat out Logan Martin’s valiant effort in which he landed an equally impressive run earning a 94.00. Taking bronze was another X Games rookie, 23-year-old Brian Fox.

In a heated contest that saw eight riders give it their all, it was Foster who reigned king on the biggest jump at X Games with a progressive run that will change the future of the sport. Alex Nikulin, meanwhile, became the first Russian athlete to place top three at X Games in over fifteen years. Owning as much charisma as talent, Foster showed up to X Games Minneapolis with one goal in mind — to defend his hard won Big Air title from last year. There was just one problem however.“I came out here not even knowing if I could ride,” he explained after the event. “I got hit by a car last week on my motorcycle!”

Day Two of X Games Minneapolis 2018 was everything one could expect from the world’s premier action sports competition as athletes from all corners of the globe competed in seven highly charged finals in BMX, Skateboard and Moto X to the delight of more than 35,000 fans that flooded the gates on Friday.

Monster Energy congratulates Jamie Bestwick on his silver medal at X Games Minneapolis on Thursday night for his efforts on the BMX vert ramp. In a repeat performance from last year, the BMX pioneer rode late into the night giving the massive crowd confirmation that he is still at the top of his game. Though it rained for most of the day in Minneapolis it wasn’t enough to hamper competition as crews worked a low-tech, but proven strategy for drying the vert ramp. Using leave blowers to evaporate the moisture from the wooden composite, by the time the riders lined up for competition conditions were suitable for take off. And for the legendary Jamie Bestwick it was his first run that launched him onto the podium.

Rallying the giant crowd atop the 14-foot ramp he pumped his clenched fist in the air and dropped in with all the power and excitement of a man who has dedicated his life to the progression of BMX riding. Starting things off with an alley-oop turndown, Bestwick then set himself up with a no hander before launching into two of the biggest tricks of the evening with a Superman down whip into a massive alley-oop 540 that he spun off axis, essentially flattening out during the rotation. Mixing up the rest of his run with unique tricks like a candy bar and a fast-plant flair it was clear that the he was not ready to hang up his bike just yet. Between his timeless style, consistent height, and trick selection it was undoubtedly a podium worthy run.

When his score came in at a solid 88.00 you could see him nod his head in approval as if to say, “I’ll take it.”
