What a way to kick off the 2026 UCI BMX World Cup season. Under the Provençal sun of Sarrians, the first round delivered surprises, home celebrations and a few statements from riders looking ready for a big year. In Elite Men, the spotlight belonged to Dutchman Jaymio Brink. After fighting his way through the day, Brink produced when it counted, taking his very first UCI World Cup victory. Not the perfect start out of the gate, but plenty of determination and speed when the final arrived. A breakthrough win and a memory he will not forget anytime soon.

Colombia's Diego Arboleda once again showed why he is one of the safest bets in BMX racing, securing second place and valuable points. For the French fans, Sylvain André saved the day with a solid third-place finish, ensuring the home crowd had a rider to celebrate on the podium.

The women’s final saw a familiar winner. Canada's Molly Simpson returned to the top step in Sarrians, exactly where she enjoyed success last season. Calm, fast and in control all day, she looked every bit like a rider with unfinished business in 2026. Denmark's Malene Kejlstrup impressed with second place, while Olympic champion Saya Sakakibara added another podium finish to her comeback campaign in third.

French supporters finally got the victory they were waiting for in the Under 23 Men category. Léo Le Bougeant delivered a perfect performance in front of his home crowd to take the win.

On 13 and 14 June 2026, Papendal will host the UCI BMX Racing World Cup for the very last time. This marks the end of an impressive era in which Papendal grew into one of the most iconic venues on the international BMX Racing calendar. Under the theme “Make it count”, the weekend will be fully dedicated to sporting highlights, special reflections, and new ambitions for the future.

Since 2011, the UCI BMX Racing World Cup has been organised at Papendal. Over the past fifteen years, the event has become a permanent fixture on the international calendar, loved by both athletes and fans. The event was awarded ‘BestEST EventVENT’ by the UCI in 2013, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.
