2020 BMX proudly presents ‘That’s What’s Up’, a DVD by Troy Charlesworth.
We hosted a Go BMXing day Jam last month to co-celebrate our race guru Bruce Morris's birthday. Starting at the shop we had a session on the ramp, then headed down to Fairfield skatepark for ride and a bunny hop comp before heading to the after party brewery for some hard earned pints!
Kuraby skatepark has hosted many jams over the years and with the current lack of events going on we decided it was time to get some pallet ramps and a bunch of Brisbane best BMX riders to have a shred and cover each other's bikes in monster stickers.
The first official LUXBMX game of BIKE kicked off on the backyard ramp hosted by Boyd Hilder and Troy Charlesworth. Featuring some of the best riders from around SEQ, it was an epic day with plenty of hammers!

Shop name: LUXBMX
Dave Dillewaard - Roll in the business: Manager/Mechanic
Location: Brisbane, Australia.
Years in business: 10
Best year yet: 2020 if you could believe that!
Worst year yet: The first couple of years for sure!
2020 has been, well, different. When did Covid-19 turn up and start influencing your business?
Dave Dillewaard: Our craziness started the day I returned from Portugal in March. I was over there for the annual UCI Judges conference and the day I returned home our government put in mandatory quarantine for overseas travelers. Technically I got home the day before this happened but I did 2 weeks working from home to be safe.
Did you take any action from the start or were you thinking this would be over in a few weeks?
Dave Dillewaard: We didn’t really do much at the start. Just the normal precautions. As restrictions from our government got a little stricter we ended up having to close the showroom for the immediate future
A few of the LUX staff decided to head out to Archerfield skatepark to test out the newly installed rail.
Some of the LUXBMX team guys, plus a whole heap of crew from the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane scenes headed to the BMX paradise Nimbin for a weekend of BMX in the middle of the beautiful valley hidden in the northern NSW hinterland.
