The In-between is a new DIG series via our guy Trent Lutzke and Mark Bennett, delving into all the aspects of BMX either side of riding. On this journey, we hope to connect with others on a deeper level and express more about what we do rather than just the riding clips. Enjoy the In-between.
"I’ve lived in Michigan all my life. Born and raised in the mitten side of the state. This is the place that keeps on giving, the spots are endless/unique if you are willing to search for them and the scenery is hard to beat. But no matter how much I say I love this place; my opinion feels bias. Ever since THEMICHIGANVIDEO I have been hooked on BMX and bringing light to the place I grew up.
We are here to proudly welcome Hobie Doan to the Sweets Mob. Hobie started jamming kendama a few years back and we saw him connect to the game immediately. Seeing footage of him teach kendama to others all around the world made him an obvious choice for the team. We knew he needed to become an official member of the family.
It was the night before Christmas and all the boys gathered round the 2 foot tall tree and a pile of unexpected presents on the ground! Miki Fleck (United / etnies), Hobie Doan (Kink / Goods BMX / etnies), Jaume Sintes, Tony Malouf, Forrest Hawk, myself and a few others enjoyed a very different vibe for the holiday while we all converged under one roof in Long Beach, California!
Hobie Doan is a machine when it comes to filming—point him at a spot and he just goes to town. He rolled through Long Beach recently and fired out 5 clips at each spot he hit—clocking 15 clips in an afternoon. Must be nice!
Hobie Doan is not the kind of guy to sit around and wait. With all the downtime this year, he steadily continued to stack footage throughout the Northwest and California, along with some bangs from a pre-covid trip to Barcelona. Undeniable heat from Hobie, as per usual!
