Finally BMX events are regaining traction and this trend continued over the weekend, as Swiss Cycling together with Freestyle Park Ticino hosted the 2021 Swiss Freestyle BMX Championships. The event took place at the Freestyle Park Ticino in Cadenazzo, a FISE standard park built by Hurricane in 2019 which takes no prisoners and boasts a good mix of big jumps, transfers, but also a smaller street-style section. The finals kicked off with the ladies, where we saw the inclusion of WCMX (wheelchair motocross) athlete Lorraine Truong. After a super stylish first run with a good mix of creative rotations, laybacks and lines, she decided to pull out all the stops for her second run and start by dropping in on the big vert ramp, definitely one of the highlights of the event.

The last of Velosolution's RED BULL UCI Pump Track qualifiers took place in Switzerland. That leaves one last chance to qualify on October 16th, the day before the 2021 Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Champs in Lisbon on the same pump track. A small mistake in the Big Final, saw Nadine Aeberhard lose out on that World Final ticket to Christa Von Nierderhausern. Nadine, number 2 from 2019, and Christa brings a number 1 from 2018 and a number 3 finish from the 2019 World Final. High level racers come out of Switzerland.
A close top 4 in the Men's Category but Tristan Borel, number 2 from 2019, remained unbeatable on race day. A 2nd place for French rider Axel Jondeauu in a close battle till the end.
