Do you remember the moment that you decided to start collecting BMX memorabilia?
Michael James: I had the last bike I competed on a 1987 GT pro freestyle tour, that was just how I rode it, all mismatched parts & such. Back then we concentrated on what worked & did not break. I saw a flier for an Old school BMX show at the Recyclery in Portland, Oregon. Took my '87 Kuwahara Bravo Pro frame with me to check it out. So cool to see all the old school rides! Talked to the curator of the event Paul & we became best friends. We started doing the show together & this year will be the 14th year!
My buddy Simon Marquart came over to The Netherlands to ride some bikes and prepare for the 2021 USA BMX Grand Nationals. I just got cleared from the doctor to start riding again after my knee injury, so it was good for both have us to have a training partner!

We held the second Kopli Session on September 4-5 at Kopli Ekstreempark in Tallinn, Estonia. The very first year was a huge success despite the ongoing crisis, bringing together more than 40 local BMX talents to have a great time among friends. There was no going back now, the contest had to return in 2021! This time around, skateboarding was included as well.
