A lot of time to relax after Texas Toast wasn't there. In fact, laundry was still going when it was time to catch the train to the airport for the Vibrations Urbaines in Pessac. Luckily a cheap flight from the local airport was all that was needed to get there. Dealing with Ryanair is rough, but it gets you there.
Frank Phung picked me up and on arrival at the event venue I had a bit of a culture shock. Coming from the best event that the USA has to offer to an event with scooter kids, long boards, live tribal tattooing and fixie clinics, you can picture how I felt. Stepping inside the big festival tent that covered the park course things got a little better as at least I saw a few familiar faces, but it just wasn't the same. But in VU's defense, every contest after Texas Toast would have not been as good.
