Australia had three World Champions crowned overnight in an exciting second day of racing. No less than seventy-seven Australians competed on an action packed day two of the 2014 UCI BMX World Championships in Rotterdam. The riders were part of the Challenger Class that involved ages five through to sixteen years, with the Australians collecting three world firsts and a number of podiums finishes against the best riders in the world.

Trent Newkirk wins the open division at the Monster Army Recon Tour Round 3 in Butler, Ohio at the Ohio Dreams facility presented by Replay XD. As a contender in the Recon Tour finals last year, Newkirk is no stranger to the Recon Tour series and with this win will be invited back to the finals where he is definitely regarded as a solid threat to the competition. Ohio Dreams is not the everyday skatepark most athletes are used to, but is a private world-class training facility that serves dedicated athletes to improve and progress

For four days – from Thursday through Sunday – the riders at the Snipes BMX Cologne demanded everything from their 20-inch wheels: amateurs as well as the pros ignored the heat, and about 10,00 fans and friends were awed by the never-before-seen tricks at the Cologne Jugendpark, in spite of temperatures of up to 37°C. The 30th edition of the world‘s oldest and most important BMC contest, under the leadership of Stephan Prantl, presented its participating riders with three very special courses. With the construction of a Dirt Line of 1000 tons of clay and cement under the Zoo Bridge, a SuperBowl built like an arena, and a Flatland course on an Autoscooter, the organizers met the wishes of numerous BMXers from around the world.
