For the first time in rebeljam history the core BMX event will come to London, England. The York Hall Leisure Centre will be turned into a world-class street course for the best BMX riders to compete on. Friday 21 November will be qualifying day for the pro street riders at the York Hall, situated on 5 Old Ford Road. Course designer Brian Kachinsky is looking forward to it: "I'm really psyched on the Vans rebeljam because the whole event is BMX, top to bottom. It's organised by BMX-ers, it's built by BMX-ers, etc. so events like that I think are always the best.
It's that time of the year again for BMX-ers to step on a motorized bike and hit up the Stoppelcross season. The corn is gone and tracks will be roped off on the field for the entire month of November. The first one took place in Handel last Sunday. The race actually came a bit sooner than expected and I had not touched the bike since the last race in Volkel last year. Needless to say, the physical preparation was horrible. The broken shifter was fixed on Thursday and other than making sure the bike was running, I did not ride at all.
It's a strange day for a contest: Tuesday, but if you're dealing with 16 pro riders at a place where people generally don't drive out to visit, it doesn't really matter what day in the week you have your event.
