The Novant Health BMX Supercross Track in Rock Hill is possibly the most sophisticated BMX facility on the planet. The multi-million dollar venue impressed every single athlete and even the rain could not bring the vibe down. During the evening of the qualifying motos and Time Trials Superfinals the Supercross track remained rock hard and gave everyone a fair chance to race to their full potential no matter what position they had on the starting gate. The Men qualification races were dominated by Corben Sharrah (USA) and Gonzalo Molina (ARG) who won all three heats each. Sharrah set the faster time in the third lap thus winning the Men qualifying racing. A drag racing Sylvain André (FRA) has fired up his engine and should be one to watch tomorrow when the racing starts of the last round of the UCI BMX SX World Cup. Federico Villegas (ARG) has kept his form after doing well at UCI BMX Supercross World Cup round four in Santiago Del Estero and rode to a strong 1 - 1 - 2 in South Carolina. 48 riders in total made it to Saturday's final race. American Jordan Miranda grabbed the last spot and will be able to line back up again on the gate for more.
Today a very good friend of mine is organising Urban Matterz at the Cacao Fabriek in Helmond, the Netherlands. It's a hip hop festival with graffiti clinics, old school hip hop photo exposition of Joe Conzo from New York, he's got Melle Mel and Scorpio in Helmond, the inventor of scratching (Grandwizzard Theodore from New York), breakdance clinics, the whole nine yards. Also BMX has been added to the
A 17-year-old New York high school student and BMX competitor has started a Care2 petition urging the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) to reopen the Brooklyn Banks, one of the world’s most popular skate spots. The Brooklyn Banks has been closed since 2010, when the DOT began using the area to store equipment during a four-year Brooklyn Bridge restoration project. The area was supposed to
Pressure is on for those riders heading to Rock Hill this weekend for the final round of the UCI BMX SX World Cup. The last stop of the year will be an interesting one, especially in the Women class. Mariana Pajon (COL) is leading, but by just a small margin over home favourite Alise Post (USA) who wants to turn this lead around by the end of Saturday evening when the champions are crowned. Still within reach are 2015 UCI BMX Elite Women world champion Stefany Hernandez (VEN) and last year's UCI BMX SX World Cup champion Caroline Buchanan (AUS). If Alise wins the race, she'll win the title. If Mariana wins, she wins the cup. If Hernandez wins and Pajon finishes 3rd or worse, the title will go to Venezuela.
The last World Cup SX race to be held at the multi million dollar BMX facility in South Carolina will be the deciding round. Britain's Liam Phillips has a comfortable lead going into round five after winning three out of four UCI BMX SX World Cups this year. If Liam makes it into the main event he's got the title wrapped up but its still BMX and anything can happen. Last year Liam went
The 15th edition of « Sessions Volcaniques » took place from 11 to 13 September 2015, in Aurillac. Due to bad weather the contests Skate & BMX and free concert of Gérard Baste had to be moved to the « Halle de Lescudilliers » on Saturday, September 11. Despite this last-minute change program we celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of the most beautiful way! Highlights of these « Sessions Volcaniques 2015 » have of course been the contests Skate & BMX that occurred on Madneom Skate Artistic modules,
