Next year, in 2018, the Nitro Circus will be back on tour in Europe. With shows planned in England, Scotland, Sweden, France, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium it's a big one again. From 20 November till 09 December the Circus will be on the road with of course a bunch of crazy BMX riders. It's a show you actually don't want to miss.
It's a good mix of entertainment, stunts, show and craziness packed in one evening. With the last show being in Antwerp, Belgium, closest to the FATBMX office, we're hoping there will be some riders left to put on a show.
Stay tuned because we'll have some Nitro Circus tickets to give away closer to the events through an online competition on FATBMX. Check the dates in the photo and put your favourite stop on your calendar. The circus is coming to town.
You got this!
Call him the veteran, or just the most experienced rider out there. But never count him out. The BMX legend continues to ride because he loves it and because he knows he still has it. 2017 is in the books. Bring on 2018.
My 2017: Ryan Nyquist
Hometown: Wilmington, NC. USA.
Sponsors: Haro Bikes, Rockstar, Bell, Vans, CTI Knee Braces
Do you remember the first BMX event you went to this year and how did it go?
Ryan Nyquist: Yes it was Simple Session and it didn’t go that well. Hahaha! A couple small slip ups and I didn’t qualify for finals. Made for a short weekend.
How many weekends/days were you away from home and at a BMX jam/contest or on tour?
Ryan Nyquist: A lot. Maybe 100-150. That’s a lot for me.
What was the best event you went to this year that gets your vote?
Ryan Nyquist: The Vans BMX Pro Cup in Australia was so rad! The vibe and the crowd were amazing!
What contest placing were you stoked on this year?
Ryan Nyquist: This year I wasn’t super focused on placing well. I was more into making my own goals

Alex Emig 2017. Alex started the year working on this edit. Stacking clips all over the chicagoland area. But due to some minor injuries, we had to put a pause on filming. And with winter stopping riding outdoors, we decided to use what he got.
We set up camp in the Bay Area of Northern California with Chad Kerley, Mike Gray, Josh de Reus and experienced local guide Christian Rigal showing us some of his gem spots. The golden fall weather days were spent clipping up and a couple sessions even flowed into the crisp nights. With a tight crew and no schedule to follow, the trip was one to remember!
A transplant from the UK, Ben Wallace has been living in California for 4 years taking advantage of the picture perfect weather to ride his bike. This video shows a lot of the local spots that Ben goes to and rides them only like he can. Welcome to the California Republic.
The X-Games announces the “Real BMX” teams for 2018. One rider gets teamed up with a filmer. To make it to this list as a rider and a filmer is already a big deal. Heavy riding will go into this plus endless hours of making the clip perfect. We'll get to see the outcome later in 2018 but expect these clips to be fire. Here are the teams:
Kevin Peraza and Juani Zurita
Colin Varanyak and Doeby
Brad Simms (filmer TBD)
Corey Martinez and Peter Adam
Tom Dugan and Darryl Tocco
Sean Ricany and Veesh
